I have fifteen+ years of experience in all aspects of fundraising - everything from face-to-face street canvassing, door-to-door acquisition in all seasons for 3+ years in Toronto (including some very cold winters!) to cold-calling donor propects to successful major donor acqusitions. I’ve generated funds in excess of seven figures for major non-profits & arts organizations from simply knocking on doors & making phone calls.

Fundraising Consulting

If you have an idea - a project in the arts, a community endeavor - something that requires raising funds and don’t know where to start, say hello to me & tell me about the project so I know how to approach you for our first conversation.

What you get in a session/consultation

We go over your goals and see what approaches you feel comfortable with in donor acquisition.

You also get a two-to-four hour workshop for one day, where we go over how to do the work in three aspects - making cold-calls/sending emails, setting up fundraising platforms & how to build a donor list from scratch.

Note: If you’re in the Toronto area, we can discuss doing the workhop in person if you believe it will help.

I prefer one-on-one workshops. If I’m working with someone who is disabled I prefer to accomodate their schedule should they have to miss our designated appointment. One-on-one workshops also allow us to focus on a specific project rather than speak in generalities. This way I’m doing a better job for you & I’m not spreading my attention to 20+ individuals.

If you identify as d/Deaf or are a person who is visually impaired I am in the process of learning how to disseminate information to you in a proper, inclusive way. I ask that you reach out to me & if you feel comfortable in sharing any ways to make the process properly inclusive to you, don’t be afraid to be direct & I will accomodate you properly.

Additional Assistance for Trans Folk

Recognizing that trans folk will encounter additional/potential hurdles in their fundraising activities, if I really like your project idea & if you are putting together any kind of structure for long-term development (a permanent fundraising wing or at least seasonal outreach campaigns) I’ll put together any kind of structure for your project or organization so that you’re ready to run a long-term campaign on your own. If you encounter any difficulties as your proceed, I’m only a phone call or email away.

I have a tip jar here that you see with the ‘Donate’ button. It’s to help my brother with his rent, food & medication, as he’s dealing with Stage 4 Liver Cirrhosis (& he needs a liver transplant to save his life) so if you’ve found I was helpful & have a little to spare, by all means drop a contribution in the tip jar. But considering the state of the world & how it’s been so much more difficult to do any kind of crowdfunding over social media, the next while I’ll just be doing free consulting. If you want to make an arrangement down the line to hire me for something, we can discuss it at a later date, if you wish.
