Restore a Life Campaign

The Restore a Life Campaign is designed to facilitate, with ease, the application & testing process for any individual who wants to see if they are eligible to make a living organ donation in Canada. You can donate a kidney, or part of your liver at minimal risk to you, to save the life of a stranger or a loved one. But you might not know how to begin the process.

As someone who is currently searching for a living liver donor for my brother who has Stage 4 Liver Cirrhosis, I’ve been fortunate enough to research how to go about being a donor in every region/municipality across the country & I feel it important to share this information in an efficient, direct way to help others save the lives of the people they love (or strangers, if they choose to)

The Government of Canada have set up a page that allows you to access information in your region as to how you can becoming a living donor here:

Organ and tissue donation - Canada.ca

There are certain gaps of information, though, that a potential donor may fall through, be it support programs in your area as you take a few weeks to recover from the procedure, or how you can make a living organ donation to someone outside of your region should you choose to. Or, you may just need a little help with the application but don’t know who to contact or how.

Example: You live in Victoria, BC but have a family member in Red Deer, Alberta who is in need of a kidney donation & you want to be tested to see if you can help save their life but don’t know where to start.

We connect you to the right people so you don’t have to do the work to search out the information.

It’s not my place to speak on behalf of any health agency. Our job is to connect you to the right people.

If someone wants to anoymously inquire about being tested to be a potential living organ donor, simply fill out the form below.

You only need to provide an email address, the region of the country you live in & let us know how we can help. We don’t collect your data nor will you receive any responses unless they are directly related to a question you may have. You will only receive correspondence you have consented to and no solicitations of any kind in the present or future. We don’t ask about blood type, living conditions or anything personal about your health. We don’t even need to know your name.

We are only here to serve the faciliation process to connect you to the people who can help and answer your questions.

Example: I live in Regina, Saskatchewan. I’ve been thinking about being a living organ donor but I don’t want to say whether or not it’s to a stranger or a friend or family member, nor do I want to say where the individual lives. I just need someone to talk to about it to see if it’s an option.

We send you the information of who to talk to in Regina, Saskatchewan, along with other contact information of agencies in your region & links to all the resources that can help you during the testing process and support networks you can rely on as you recover from surgery, and it allows you to make the inquiries & decisions on your own.

Having talked with various health agencies across the country, I’ve put together a package of information to compliment the great work these agencies are already doing.

We are not affiliated with any provincial health unit, we are not here to answer questions that they can & will be happy to answer for you. Our job is to not interfere or compromise the process - only to gently encourage it.

Fill out the form below if you want to start on your journey to Restore a Life.
