Anecdote.  
 
I’m writing today to invite you to listen to a new theatre-of-the-mind/audio drama series called ‘Toronto Gothic.’ 

‘Toronto Gothic' is a series of theatre-of-the-mind audio dramas of horror, the perverse, the erotic (& the thread that binds the three) set in the city of Toronto. 

But it’s also gentle storytelling, of whimsy, & the things that make this city so sweet & delightful (so it’s a little something for everyone)  

We’ll be doing a marathon of storytelling & performances for ALL SPRING as the sharing of art can also be a powerful way to raise awareness for a cause that requires our attention.  

My brother Salim is dyiing of Stage 4 Liver Cirrhosis & without a liver transplant soon, he will die.
 
I’ve been running a living organ donor program across Canada to help not just him, but many others who are currently on a transplant waiting list who need a livor or kidney donation to survive, and we’ve started to find successful matches and save lives.  

Two years of research, dialogue with hundreds of health agencies & hospitals across North America, it would be a shame to not use everything I’ve learned to help others find a living liver or kidney donor match 
 
I’m hoping by releasing my art into the world through a marathon we can attract enough attention & help us find a matching donor for my brother & raise money for his food, rent & medication at the same time.  

From original tales to classics dating back centuries, I will be recording and uploading theatre-of-the-mind/audio dramas daily (taking the occasional break if my voice & body need the rest) until we hit our fundraising goals AND find him a few living liver donor candidates.

I wouldn’t run a marathon unless the situation were dire for him both health-wise & financially (& it is on both counts)
