I have fifteen+ years of experience in all aspects of fundraising - everything from face-to-face street canvassing, door-to-door acquisition in all seasons for 3+ years in Toronto (including some very cold winters!) to cold-calling donor propects to successful major donor acqusitions. I’ve generated funds in excess of seven figures for major non-profits & arts organizations from simply knocking on doors & making phone calls.

Fundraising Consulting

I specialize in acquiring short-and-long-term funding for projects, big or small. Being direct, in the last couple of years I’ve been in situations where I’ve been in working relationships with a couple of organizations where the process of being hired went on for months without resolution, where I put in a lot of hours to come up with plans to acquire major donors that went nowhere, where I wasn’t paid a cent. I don’t fault the organiations – for any number of reasons, bureaucracy is what it is – the blame rests on me for not adequately valuing my labour.

So, here’s how I work. You tell me what you’re doing or what idea you have & how much you need & you pay nothing up front. I draw up a plan, I present it to you & if it’s sound, you let me get to work. I present to you any messaging that goes out on your behalf so your mission isn’t misrepresented – you know what goes into every email, and every phone call, every meeting.

I am paid by what I acquire, from 10-20% commission depending on the size of the project & the financial status of the organiztion or individuals involved.

I’ve raised over seven figures in contributions to various organizations just by knocking on doors & cold calling. I have donor propect lists that I’ve created that have funded projects like the one you see here (Jolicoeur)

I don’t bend rules, I don’t do anything unethical, & I find you genuinely good people who are looking for reasons to give & provide them those reasons. If you come to me for help, I’m invested in your long-term sustainability & prioritize protecting and enhancing your reputation.

If you don’t want a fundraiser, but you want your own donor prospect list, I can create one for you without fundraising on your behalf – the fee & size for a list is negotiable, depending on the project. You pay for this up front + a consulting fee.

I don’t just give you names – I provide biographies of the individuals, causes they support & don’t support, ways of contacting them without being intrusive & tie the thread between the two of you with what you have in common. I specialize in building connection. I give you the list, but also work with you on the method so you’re in control of the fundraising – I give you the tools to build your own house.

Imagine starting your own fundraising project – doesn’t even have to be a publication - it could be a dance company, or any endeavor within your community, and instead of short-term acquisition over crowdfunding (made even more difficult by algorithm shifts on social media) I give you long-term, monthly donors, & you’re saved the labour to find people who are willing to give.
